Okay, here's a my premise for a quirky, expanded-universe, alternate continuity (of an alternate continuity, no less (Crimson Latex)), fantasy-and-bondage-kitchen-sink fan-fiction starring characters of my own.

The submissive/dominant energies were just the tip of the iceberg for the Atlanteans and their arcane sciences. When the Romans re-discovered the sunken continent, only a select few ruins held the salvageable materials and tomes that led to Collar 6's world of today, while the rest of the sciences drowned in an unknown cataclysm.

At least, that's what one side of the coin would tell you. But, in another world, rife with magic-fueled city-states and marauding fantastic beasts, a mistress and her loyal slave discover something that will lead them to the heart of Atlantis, and ultimately the re-shaping of their world and the world long ago.

Basically, try combining the high fantasy, dungeon punk (not magic instead of technology; magic AS technology), epic, and action-adventure genres.

Really, this won't have much to do with Collar 6 itself so much as Atlantis and its possible futures had it not inexplicably (until Wolf explains it) disappeared.

If you ask me, fanfiction and high-fantasy epic AUs are difficult to mix. ^^; See, high fantasy requires a lot of world-building if you want to avoid the cliches and by the time you finished building your world, Wolf's canon has probably outpaced it.

But speaking of fanfiction, I had an idea of a C6 fanfic, too. A film noir-ish urban fantasy-slash-conspiracy thriller about the shadier side of the Association: namely, a clandestine counter-terrorism department that sends extremely powerful but short-lived subs on near-suicide missions. The story is told from the perspective of one of the department's handlers, a weak-powered but experienced Dom (complete with trenchcoat, fedora, and monologues) who was just assigned his third sub (the previous two KIA) and is having major doubts about the ethics of his work.

In order:

I'm great at world-building; I'm a tabletop gamer. Not only that, but I'm the GM. World-building isn't so difficult as long as you don't focus on everything at once. The characters in mind would have a set path, and even if it WAS world-spanning, this is where the fact that it's on Earth comes in. Tweak a few countries, theorize a few scenarios with the introduction of magic, draw inspiration from everything you can, BOOM!

I also like the idea of your fanfic; I'd recommend watching the anime "Gunslinger Girl" for some inspiration.

That still doesn't address the issue of Wolf's canon outpacing your own, but well, if it works for you, go for it. :) In my fanfiction, I prefer to stick to the canon setting (and preferably characters) and only add new stories to it. World-building is something I only do in original settings. ^^;

I know it. In fact, it is already one of my major inspirations, particularly the relationship between Hirshire and Triela. ^^
